Our Approach

We are grounded in Reproductive Justice, human rights, intersectionality, and guided by the lived experiences of Black and Latiné birthing persons.

We seek to transform and disrupt existing systems of oppression by practicing ...

  • An embodied values-based practice

  • Power with, not power over, and accountability to our community

  • Collective action across issues and identities

  • Liberatory economic and investing relationships

These frameworks help us understand power at the intersections of race, gender, class, and geography, uplift the complexity and heterogeneity of Black and Latiné birthing people, center lived experience and community wisdom in co-creating solutions, reclaim relational, decolonized, radical, and non-extractive ways of caring, and operate outside of traditional systems to model alternatives that shift norms.

Our work is rooted in the belief that birthing people hold the wisdom, power, and insight needed to transform not only their care but the systems that surround them.

Our Vision, Mission, Principles & Values

Our Vision

We imagine a world where…

every woman is seen, heard and trusted.

a woman’s race, ethnicity, nationality, spoken language, religion, gender identity, class, or ability no longer determines their health, dignity, wellbeing, autonomy and joy.

care is liberated, heart-centered and led by the wisdom and collective power of those most impacted.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build and sustain the ‘sys’terhood by nurturing, investing in, and organizing around community-based solutions that transform the way women / birthing people are cared for.

Our Principles & Values

The truths that guide us and the ways we seek to embody them.

How We Live It

Value

Speak truth to injustice, disrupt harmful systems, dream bigger than what exists, and act with integrity even when it is hard.

Courage

Relationships

Trust, complexity, and shared humanity sit at the heart of our work. Healing and change thrive only in deep connection.

Make space for every full self. Liberation demands each of us feel seen, valued, and rooted in community.

Belonging

Hold fast to the possibility of joy, freedom, and justice—especially when they feel out of reach.

Radical Hope

Lead with honesty, own our stories, and resist systems that ask us to perform. Show up rooted in truth and humanity.

Authencity

Believe there is more than enough love, care, and power to go around. We share resources and celebrate collective thriving.
