Our Story
Mission, Vision, and Values
Our Vision
We Imagine a ‘Sys’ terhood where…
A woman’s race, ethnicity, nationality, spoken language, religion, gender identity, class, or ability no longer determines their health, dignity, well-being, autonomy and joy.
Care is liberated, heart-centered and led by the wisdom and collective power of those most impacted.
Every woman is seen, heard and trusted.
Our Mission
Our mission is to build and sustain the ‘sys’terhood by nurturing, investing in, and organizing around community-based solutions that transform the way women / birthing people are cared for.
Our Values
We embrace change as an opportunity for transformational growth. — We dare to dream, we step outside our comfort zones, and face our fears with integrity even when it is hard.
Courage
Radical Hope
We operate with a liberatory mindset. We understand that our current reality is not inevitable, we can shape new realities built on our capacity for joy, compassion, love, and connection. — We lean into our capacity for goodness and justice and tap into our ability to imagine and co-create impossible futures.
Relationships
We resist the myth of individualism and understand that we are accountable to one another across generations, races, classes, and cultures. — We seek transformation through trust and connection not transactional interactions.
Authenticity
We resist systems that ask us to perform and hide. Vulnerability and openness are the foundations for trust. — We aim to remain true to our values, to show up with our whole selves, to be transparent, and to own our mistakes.
Belonging
We reject dominant paradigms of scarcity and competition. — We share resources and celebrate collective thriving.
Generosity
We reject the idea that some people are more deserving of respect and dignity than others. Every person deserves to be treated with reverence. — We strive to create welcoming, non-judmental spaces where people feel seen, heard, valued, and accepted ‘flaws and all’.
